Show Two County Boys Reported Missing In Action, One Wounded In Action Terry Wounded In France; Lund and Jacobson Missing 'In Air Action Three Washington county boys are anion" the casualties on the battle fronts' during the progress of the French and the activities in other war theaters. The three include: Dilworth Pearce Lund, and Lieut. Hu"h H. Jacobson, missing in action, ac-tion, and Seaman Rex Terry, wounded. On Friday, June 23rd, Mrs. Joseph Lund of St. George was notified that her son, Pvt. Dilworth Dil-worth (Dick) Pearce Lund, was missing in action over Wakde Island Is-land since June 9th. Nc further word has reached them to date. pvt. Lund entered the Army air service in Nov. 1942, training first at St. Petersburgh, Fla., and later graduating in airplane mechanics me-chanics at Sheppard Field, Texas. From there he went to Tyndale Field, Fla., and graduated as an aerial gunner on a B-24, going overseas in late Feb. 1944 He has two older brothers in military service. Captain Grant Lund, who is somewhere overseas over-seas with the medical detachment of the Army air corps, and Pvt. Edward B. Lund, who is with the U. S. Army, and was some-whore some-whore in England when last heard from. Also on Friday, June 23rd, Mrs. Bessie Terry of St. George, who is employed in Las Vegas by the U. P. railroad, was advised by wire that her son, Seaman Rex Terry, was wounded in action in the French invasion. Seaman Terry was a cook with the Navy. No details were given with the message and the family is awaiting await-ing further information from military headquarters. Mrs. . Caroline Jacobson of St. George was advised Sunday that her grandson, 2nd Lieut. Hugh H. Jacobson, is missing over France since June 12. He is a son of Mrs. Eula Barton Jacobson of Caliente, and the late Alma Jacobson Jac-obson of Pine Valley. He was pilot of a P-38. Lieut. Jacobson has spent much of his life in St. George and in Pine Valley. Other details are not available at present. |
