Everyone who par- J ticipatod enjoyed the activi- .II" ties immensely. m The day began in the morn-! morn-! ing with all of the boys of the high school and college help-ing help-ing repair the roads to the "D" hill and Sugur loaf. Some "li helped to repaint "DIXIE" on V til e Sugar Loaf. Others helped In the construction of the amphitheatre. The college 'm'm sophomores gave the emblem ." of our school its annual coat of whitewash, assisted by high "J school first years, who car-J car-J rled the water and whitewash to them. At noon the girls Ji of the school, together with ,V those of the faculty who had not helped in the morning's activities, joined the boys on the black hill. The different Cjl classes separated and ate de-J de-J licious lunches, prepared by the recreation committees of Iv the particular groups. After lunch stunts from each of the " classes and the faculty were enjoyed. Toasts were given by I'm members of the different .J classes. At two o'clock every-J. every-J. one came oft the hill to rest fa for the "D" Ball. At 8:45 the jjl "D" was illuminated with ,. torches while the band played " the school song in the public 'I'm square. At nine o'clock the "D" l'' Hay dance began. About an I", hour later our "D" Queen, JJ Miss Doris Tobler, lovely in W her white gown and train, was IVlJ crowned by the sophomore 'm class president, Bernard Seeg-Ifa Seeg-Ifa miller. Boys representing the different classes gave tributes to the queen and she res-NJj res-NJj ponded. M isses Alice Bentley, Beatrice Pratt, Mary Jarvis, Fae TeiTy, Florence Hunting-! Hunting-! ton, and Virginia Moody were Ifa her attendants. All in all, the day was a S great successs and will be re-Ijlj re-Ijlj membered long by those who V took part. Vt |
