Show Cantata to be Given Easter at Sunrise Service and Zion Pk. 'The Seven Last Words of Christ," a sacred cantata toy Thomas Dubois will be presented as the first Easter sunrise sur-vices sur-vices in 3t. George by the chorus of Dixie College, Sunday morning April 12. The services will begin be-gin at about 6:30 in the new amphitheatre back of the 3ugar Loaf. At the request of park officials, the services will be repeated at 2 a'clock in the afternoon at Zion National Park. Here they will taken place in the open-air platform plat-form near the park entrance. J. V. McAllister, head of vocal music at the college, is directing direct-ing the production. The solo-'i solo-'i ists will be Rhoda Andrus, soprano; so-prano; Dilworth Snow, tenor; and Leland Lamoreoux, baritone. They will be assisted by Miss Clara Woodhouse at the piano; John T. Woodbury, who will read the libretto, and at St. ' George a chorus of over two ): hundred voices. Only a hundred i wili participate at Zion. The St. George Rotary Club is instrumental in the presentation, - having contributed $30 for books r and agreed to furnish transportation transporta-tion for one hundred students to t Zion Park. Bleak, instructor in 'instrumental 'in-strumental music at the college. Visitors from other towns are invited. In fact, a movement is on foot to make it a part of the I day's program for churches throughout the county. |
