Show CIVIC CLUBS VOTE AGAINST JOINING STATE ASS'N While expressing their appreciation appre-ciation of the possibilities of a state chamber of commerce and their affiliation to such a chamber, cham-ber, the directors of the Southern Utah Civic Clubs association went on record as being against aff filiating fil-iating with such an organization this year. This decision was reached Saturday at Milford where the regular monthly meeting meet-ing of the association was held. The state chamber organization has been presented to the clubs as a means for working for the good of the whole state and while the southern group is in hearty accord with such a proposal, the directors were reluctant about joining as they doubted whether the best interest of the southern part of the state would be severed. sever-ed. Particular attention is being centered on the "feeder roads" at this time, according tQ C. W. Love Jr., vice-president of the association. It is for this reason that the group are working so hard on the routing of the Roosevelt Roose-velt highway. In furthering this route through Grand Junction, Price and over Soldier's Summit, the next meeting will be held in Grand Junction. Mr. Love urged the completion of the Hurricane cut-off and the building of the Snow Canyon road. A special resolution was passed by the clubs at his request and the state road commission was informed in-formed of this move. |
