Show Local Guard Unit Has First Federal Inspection Monday Night Monday, March 4, was Federal inspection day for Company C, 115th Engineers of the Utah National Guard. Federal inspections inspec-tions are held once each year to inspect the various units, this being the first inspection since the company was organized in May, 1939. The inspecting officer was Major Clark of Boise, Idaho, who is the regular army instructor for the 116th Regiment of Engineers. During the day he inspected the equipment to see that it was properly cared for and in good condition. The office was inspected inspect-ed to see that the adminstration of the unit was being properly taken care of. This inspection covered the personal appearance of the men and especially their general knowledge relative to work performed, per-formed, such as company drill, manual of arms, use of engineering engineer-ing equipment used by the organization or-ganization and actual demonstrations demonstra-tions of various types of engineering engineer-ing training. At the conclusion, Major Clark complimented the company and officers on passing a very fine inspection. Lieut. Colonel Weiler, regimental commander; com-mander; Lieut. Rosskelley, the battalion commander and Captain Gottferson, commander of the medical unit visited Company C during the inspection and the Colonel also complimented the unit for the fine showing on their first federal inspection. Various types of field training will be taken up from now until July, when they will go to encampment. en-campment.
