Show C. of C. To Hold Dinners To Acquaint Its Members With Activities In order to better acquaint its members and the people of St. George with the work that the Chamber of Commerce is doing, the board of directors decided at a meeting held last Tuesday evening eve-ning to hold public banquets every three months. The tentative date for the first banquet was set for Thursday evening, March 21. Further information will be released re-leased later regarding this. Other items discussed and problems considered were the sending of Newell R. Frei, Glenn E. Snow and Lawrence Wadsworth as delegates to the Build Utah banquet of the Utah manufacturers association to be held in Salt Lake City on March 16. The board rejected a proposal of the Salt Lake Tribune for advertising ad-vertising in a scenic edition to be published, feeling that their money could be better spent in other ways. M. J. Miles was appointed to contact the college art department and secure welcome cards to be displayed for the M.I.A. convention conven-tion to be held, here this week end. A resolution was passed in which . the superintendent of schools was asked to encourage the music festival and to endeavor to make it an annual affair. |
