Mrs. Lillian Pace and Mrs. I la Terry as co-hoste-s.-s. ' A delightful afternoon was spent by 40 club members and Mrs. George Monroe, Mrs. Laura Stead, Mrs. Fay Barlocker, Mrs. Nellie Movie and Mrs. Georgia Moyle as special guests. The pro-eram pro-eram consisted of a talk on "Flower Culture" by Pres. B. M. Winsor. FSy special request Mrs. Monroe who is a member of the Flower club in Roseville, Calif., gave a talk on flowers and told how they had started under similar conditions condi-tions to make a park. She encouraged en-couraged the club members to continue their good works, saying say-ing that Roseville has three nice parks. She also made a small contribution con-tribution of money to the club. A duet "Roses and Moonlight" was sung by Alta Truman and Maribah Holt. A talk on "The Iris" was given by Mrs. Mary Alice Hall. A report on the Cedar City convention of the Women's Federated clubs, was given by Mrs. Verna B. Holt. After the program a game consisting con-sisting of rearranging the scrambled scram-bled names of flowers, trees and vegetables was played. First prize was awarded to Minnie Dakden and Alta Truman. Second prize to Edna Jones and Verna Burnham. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Snyder were visitors here Friday and Saturday morning accompanied by H. M. Holt, they left for California Cali-fornia where they will ' attend summer school at the University of Southern California. Mr. and Mrs. Don Howard from Thompson Falls, Wyo. visited with Amos Holt for several days the past week. Orlene Day and LaPrele Tait spent several days of the past week visiting in Cedar City. Mrs. Mona Bruce of Redding and Lee Piatt of Bakersfield, Calif, left for their homes Monday Mon-day after a short visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Piatt. Saturday night Bp. Arthur Barlocker Bar-locker united Miss Lean Griffiths of Beaver and Charles Howard Chamberlain of Summit in marriage. mar-riage. The couple obtained a license in St. George and headed for Pioche to be married. On the suggestion of a friend they decided to hasten matters by calling on Bishop Barlocker. Mrs. Amos Holt and Mr. and Mrs. Don Howard visited at Fallon, Fal-lon, Nev. on Sunday. |
