Show St, George CCC Camp Twenty-five men left the Company Com-pany June 21, entrained at Cedar City and departed for Fort Benjamin Ben-jamin Harrison, Ind. They were accompanied to Cedar City by Dr. Walter E. Whalen and Sergeant Ser-geant John E. Mattox, who returned re-turned to St. George late in the afternoon. The discharging of these men lowered the strength of the camp to a small total of 25 men. ' The camp was visited and inspected in-spected last week by Lieut. Colonel McKenzie, district commander; com-mander; Captain Tatom, Fort Douglas district executive officer; Captain Alva C. Carpenter, assistant as-sistant district inspector; the assistant as-sistant educational supervisor of the general office, Washington, D. C; and Mr. Nave, head clerk from the division of grazing office of-fice at Phoenix, Ariz. The camp, which is under the command of Lieut. David M. Longenecker, was found to be in as good condition as ever found before. Dan M. Thompson, superintendent, superinten-dent, returned to the technical force from Kingman, Ariz., where he had been working as temporary tempor-ary superintendent. The soft ball team has been badly cripppled by the loss of enrolees going home but the remainder re-mainder of the team is still out to win 'the league with what prospects they have. |
