Show Local Young People Register For B.Y.U. Summer School PROVO, Utah Vernon Worthen, Lela Lund, and Preston Larsen from St. George; Claude Frei, of Santa Clara; Clark Gubler, of LaVerkin and Luetta Imlay, of Hurricane, are among the 470 students who are registered in the first term of Brigham Young university summer school, which began here last week. Leading authorities in various fields who are teaching at the B.Y.U. summer session include Dr. Ned H. Dearborn of New York university, Dr. Fred C. Frey of Louisiana State university, and James L. Nuttall, president of Snow college. One of the highlights high-lights of the summer session is the Third Annual Conference on Education held at B.Y.U. June 19 to 23. The world-famed Roth Quartet from Paris, Rollin Pease, baritone from the University of Arizona, David O. McKay of the First Presidency of the L.D.S. church, Rabbi David H. Wice of Omaha and Dr. A. M. Harding of the University of Arkansas, are among the guest artists and lecturers who will appear during the six week's term. Another outstanding event of the term will be the 28th Annual Timpanogos Hike on July 14 to 15. The first term of the B.Y.U. summer session will continue to July 21, and will be followed by the Alpine term at the university's univer-sity's mountain-side campus from July 25 to August 26. |
