Show New Harmony SI. Hammond Reporter John Spendlove of Hurricane has 1300 turkeys turned loose in the Harmony fields to help rid us of the grasshoppers. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hall from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hall of Cedar City were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hall and Mr. and Mrs. James L. Prince. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Cobb of Oxnard, Calif, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Grant for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Adair are home from Idaho where he went to shear sheep. Miss Viola Woodbury of St. George was a Sunday visitor at Eliza Kelsey's home. Marguerite Neilson motored to Cedar City Sunday where she received re-ceived a prize for naming the Thorley Theatre. Mr. Day and daughter of Fillmore Fill-more visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Kelsey Sunday. Miss Norma Schmutz was taken to Cedar City Monday for medical treatment. Relief society conference was held here Sunday with stake officers of-ficers from Parowan in attendance. attend-ance. The New Harmony 4-H club girls met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Viola Walton Friday, June 16, to elect officers. Lorene Taylor was given the presidency; Camilla Pace, vice-president; Ina Grant, song and cheer leader; Mona Taylor, secretary and treasurer; trea-surer; Lucile Englestead, reporter; Roma Mathis, organist. Club busi- ness was followed by a social time and refreshments. Genealogical meeting was held Thursday, June 18, at the home of Irving Prince, Pres. Orson Hammond conducting and 11 members present. "The Worth of Family History" was the lesson given by Orson Hammond and an illustrated family record by Melissa Me-lissa Hammond. Saturday nine of our townspeople towns-people motored to the St. George Temple to attend the day and evening sessions. ' Miss Melva Mathis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Mathis, and Victor O. Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl O. Miller of Cedar Valley, Val-ley, were united in marriage June 14, in Las Vegas. The young couple will reside in Cedar Valley. |
