Show Hurricane Miss Audrey Ballard - Reporter Miss Eleanora Isom, who is employed em-ployed in Pioche, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Isom, Sunday. Miss Vivian Sullivan, who spent the past week in Cedar City with friends, returned home Monday. Miss Reta Cox of Cane Beds is here for the summer visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Mady Jane Cox. Friday Miss LaWren Wright returned re-turned home after having spent the past few weeks in Cedar City working for Mrs. Paul Ward. Mrs. Thatcher Ballard returned Friday from a short visit in Washington with her mother, Mrs. Barbara Zahner. Dean Gurr of Caliente, Nev., is a guest this week of Elden Walker. Mrs. Sam Wilson, daughter Merta, and several of her friends spent Sunday at Jacob's Lake visiting Mr. Wilson, who has employment em-ployment there. Paul H. Gates made a business trip during the past week to Mil-ford Mil-ford and Delta. Miss Ruth Barber, who has been visiting in Payson, returned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Naegle of Cedar City visited friends in Hurricane Hur-ricane Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Alf Scow and Mr. and Mrs. DeLon Bradshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stratton, Harvey Har-vey Wright, Orlean Campbell, Kent Bradshaw and other members mem-bers of the shearing crew returned re-turned this week end from Idaho, where they have been shearing sheep for the past several weeks. Burr Bradshaw, who has been working on Cedar Mountain, returned re-turned home Sunday. Kenneth Imlay of Cedar City visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Imlay in Hurricane, Sunday. Miss Shirley Wright of Lelat, returned to her home Sunday, after af-ter visiting Miss Eva Imlay in Hurricane for the past week. Samuel Wright made a brief trip to Kanab and return Monday. Mark Imlay left Monday for St. George where he will be employed for the next few days. Miss Ilean Woodbury left Tuesday Tues-day for Cedar Mountain where she has employment for the summer. R. L. Scow returned Saturday from spending two weeks in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Roundy visited visit-ed in Grafton Monday. Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Adams left Friday for Flagstaff, Ariz, on business. Mr. and Mrs. Max Warner of Salt Lake City visited with Mr. and Mrs. Finley M. Judd. Florence Wright left Monday for Salt Lake City where she will s.tay with her sister, Anna Wright. Mrs. La Veil Robb of Para-goonah Para-goonah and infant son are guests of Mrs. Robb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Slack. Wealthy Campbell and Claudia Beams spent Tuesday on Kolob Mountain. Bevan Bradshaw of Cedar City is visiting with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Woodbury. Wood-bury. Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Sand-berg, Sand-berg, Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Hirschi of Hurricane and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wilson of LaVerkin, spent the week-end at Grand Canyon where they attended the State Banker's convention. Ethel Barnum of Las Vegas is the guest of Mrs. Martha Hastings for the summer. Mrs. Rennie Spendlove gave a party Monday evening honoring her daughter, Mrs. LaRue Spendlove. Spend-love. Mrs. Afton Humphries was an honored guest at a party given by friends Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Tobler spent Sunday in Las Vegas visiting visit-ing friends. Miss Florence Beatty, who has been visiting in Cedar City for several weeks with her sister, Mrs. G. C. Robb, returned home Sunday. Miss Maggie Englestead, who has been employed in Kanab, returned re-turned home Sunday. Mrs. Strausser of Missouri, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs Harvey Hall, Tuesday through Thursday. Mrs. Strausser has for many years made the L D.S. missionaries welcome at her home. It was while serving as a missionary in that vicinity that Mr. Hall became acquainted with Mrs Strausser, who is on her way to Salt Lake City. Etta Whiting of Salt Lake City is a guest of Mrs. Thomas Smith of Hurricane. Mrs Delmar Reay, formerly Miss Metta Stratton, and small son are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stratton. Mrs Vilate Smith and four daughters returned Sunday from a week's vacation to Navajo Lake. Mrs Cora Brown began her summer series of handicraft projects pro-jects last Thursday. Each Thursday Thurs-day until further notice she will hold classes for girls age lo and up with adult classes on Tuesdays Tues-days and Wednesdays, from 5 to 7 pm Other classes will be held Mondays from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday Wed-nesday from 3 to 7 p.m. ano Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m will be classes for children under lo. t-acn Mondav and Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Brown will entertain all children at the town lot. The object of this project is to give mothers a rest from the continual care of their children. Five Hurricane boys including Stirling Isom, Floyd and Lindon Bradshaw, Claron Hinton and Weston Spendlove returned on Thursday from spending a week traveling through Nevada, Arizona, Ari-zona, New Mexico, Texas and parts of Old Mexico. They visited the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico along with other side trips of interest. The boys reported report-ed they were shown every courtesy while on the entire trip and state the Carlsbad Caverns are wonderful beyond expression. |
