Mr. and Mrs. William Palmer and three sons and daughter, Miss Alice of Cedar City were visiting Mrs. Annie Webb here Thursday evening while enroute home from a visit in California. Arizona and Nevada. Miss Norma Webb returned to her home Saturday evening from a weeks' visit at Reno, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Milne entertained en-tertained at their home on Sat-uiday Sat-uiday evening for Howard Woodbury Wood-bury who is leaving this week to attend the University of Southern California. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Judd and daughter Afton left for Salt Lajve City. Afton will leave there this week for Washington, D. C, where she will be married to Clayton Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson of this citv. Mis. Laura Gates has returned to her home at Los Angeles after af-ter a visit with relatives and friends here. During the Homecoming Home-coming celebration her daughters. Mrs. Stewart Knowlton of Cedar City and Mrs, T. Eddington and Miss Sylvia Gates of Los Angeles visited here with her. Mrs. Clara Lee is here from Panaca, Nevada to resume her duties as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple. Her daughter, Miss Ula who spent the past few years here attending the Dixie College is attending the B. Y. U. at Provo this winter. Miss Louisa Hopkins and Miss Elvira Hopkins have returned from a visit with relatives in Idaho and a tour of Yellowstone Park. James Washburn of Blanding is here to spend the winter working work-ing in the Temple. Mrs. Ervin Schmutz returned home Friday from a short visit in Los Angeles, California. Miss Cornelia Ashby returned home Thursday from a ten-day visit with relatives and friends in Provo and Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Nelson and son, Larry left Friday for Las Vegas to make their home. Mrs. Rulon Snow underwent and- operation at the local hospital hos-pital last Thursday. Mrs. George Pace and infant son returned home last Wednesday Wednes-day from a stay in Provo and Springville. Mrs. Gene Stewart and son, of Moab and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shirk of Cedar City were weekend week-end visitors with their mother, Mrs. Sina Bunting here. Mrs. Stewart attended the nurses convention con-vention that was held in Cedar City the latter part of last week. Mrs. Elsie Wood entertained at a wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Shelly at her home here on Wednesday evening. even-ing. Howard Woodbury left Monday Mon-day for the University of Southern South-ern California where he will study dentistry. Mr. and Mrs. DelRoy Isom and son left Wednesday for Salt Lake City where they will spend the winter, Mr. Isom attending the University of Utah. Mr." "and Mrs. John W. Pace spent last week-end going over mining land in Bull Valley and report much activity there. They were guests of Jack McCrimmin while away. "The West ward Primary held their homecoming in the Open-air Open-air pavilion on Monday evening. The children's work was exhibited, exhib-ited, a program -was given and the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. Virgil Snow left Wednesday morning to resume his studies at Creighton university in Omaha, Nebraska after spending the summer sum-mer with his father E. B. Snow and 'other relatives here. -Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fruth and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hansen who are visiting here from Los Angeles Ange-les were entertained Sunday evening even-ing by Mrs. Famie Nelson at her home. Other guests included, Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miles, Mr. and Mrs. Hale Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Milne, Mr. and Mrs. Miles Nelson and Miss Evelyn Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Fruth and Mr. and Mrs. Hansen were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Empey the same day. They intend returning re-turning to their home in California Calif-ornia Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Orien N. Follett and Misses Esther Israelson, and Claris Anderson and Melvin and Allen Israelson of Logan were visiting Mr. Follefs sister, Mrs. Andrew Pace here last Thursday Thurs-day and Friday while enroute home from Mexico. They will visit the Southern Utah Parks before rehiring home. Dr. and Mrs. P. G. Taylor of San Francisco who spent the past two weeks here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Taylor left Friday for their home. They were accompanied as far as Los Angeles by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Russell of Salt Lake City, who had spent a few days here. Mr. and Mrs. Russell are expected ex-pected back on Saturday to enjoy en-joy a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor. Mrs. Chris Greenhagen and Mrs. Bessie Lortz were visiting relatives and friends in Salt Lake City over the week-end. Mrs. Don G. A. Smith has returned re-turned home from a visit with her children in Idaho. Miss Alice Lowe of Salmon City returned with her to attend the Dixie College Col-lege this winter. W;alter Clark left Monday for Los Angeles to study dentistry at the University of Southern California. Miss Vera Byers left Saturday for Chicago to resume her schooling after a months' visit with her mother and other relatives rela-tives here. Mr. Byers and Miss Shirley will remain here. Mrs. Lydia Bleak returned to her home at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma last Thursday after a weeks' visit with relatives and friends. In St. George she was the guest of her neice Miss Ber-neice Ber-neice Holt. Mrs. Menzies Bensen left Saturday Sat-urday for Park City to join her husband who has employment there. Mrs. LaMar Sorenson entertained enter-tained the K. Y. B. club at her home on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Maude Cottam is entertaining enter-taining the Social and Literary club at her home this afternoon. Grant Gubler of Santa Clara who is at the local hospital for treatment is reported some better today. Mrs. George Fawcett and son Thoiiey returned to their home at Lund. Nevada on Monday after af-ter a ten-days' visit with relatives rela-tives here. They were accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Ernest Larson who will spent a few weeks there. Milner left St. George Wednesday Wednes-day for Tucson, Arizona to attend at-tend school. They traveled over Boulder lake by Kingman and Phoenix in the latter's airplane. Mr. Milner is a former school mate and fraternity brother of Mr. Cannon's who flew here in his plane for a week's visit and to enjoy the St. George Homecoming Home-coming celebration. While here he carried many passengers over St. George and vicinity in his four-passenger cabin plane and made a charter trip over Zion Canyon carrying Myles Nelson, Ferrol Hafen and Wilford Cannon Can-non as passengers. George Snow and Cal Andrus returned Sunday from Los Angeles Ange-les where they spent a week on their vacation. Kenneth Bleak underwent an operation on Saturday at the local hospital. |
