Show v - - ; LASITiDA BETA THETA ELECTS NEW OFICEKS New officers for Lambda Beta Theta, honorary literary sorority at Dixie junior college ,were chosen chos-en for 1936-37 at a meeting held last Thursday. Tfie next meeting meet-ing will be conducted by them as an initial experience. Those elected are as follows: Mary Clark, president; Jean Cot-tam, Cot-tam, vice-president; Afton Terry, secretary; Virginia Prince, treasurer; treas-urer; Madge Christiansen, historian histor-ian and reporter; and Fae Mathis, pledge captain. Retiring officers are Florence Huntington, Ula Lee, Loa Reid, Desma Hall, and Millie Abbott. Nellie Snow was chosen as chairman to be responsible for literary activities in the "Arts Fesival" to be held next fall. Linna Snow was selected as faculty advisor, to succeed Len-ore Len-ore Thurston, who will not be at the college next year. Plans were being made at the last social event of the club this year, a senior breakfast to be given by the alumnae Sunday morning. Ada Hafen was elected elec-ted chairmen of committee to arrange ar-range detaails. - A report on the Elizabeth poets of England was given by Loa Reid. Next Thurday, Nellie Snow will discuss "Will" Shakeseare, the greatest of all poets according accord-ing to literary critics. |
