Show STUDENTS' TOUR OF CALIFORNIA POINTS VERY INTERESTING The tour of the biology department depart-ment and Spanish club under the direction of D. Eklen Beck and P. D. Spillsbury was well spent, according to the students and directors. dir-ectors. The students report that they received more good from the six days of the trip than they would from one quarter of school. The students left May 6 and visited the Boulder Dam in the afternoon and traveled all night to Los Angeles and were there for two days visiting the places of most interest. The third day they went to San Pedro and collected living plants and animals. The groups spent the afternoon s vimming in the ocean at Long Beach. The next day was spent in Tia Juana, Mexico and San Diego where they visited Balboa Park where some twenty five hundred animals and birds are kept. The boys were admitted onto a dual transport ship to the navy battleships. battle-ships. The fifth day was at the Huntington Park. The return trip the group stopped stop-ped at the Arabian Morse Famn at Pomona but it was closed for that day. The students were very much disappointed. The tour of the cities of Southern South-ern California is to be an annual trip of the biology department according ac-cording to D. Elden Beck. i |
