Show VIRGIN Mother's Day was observed here ! with a program given in Sunday i school which was put over very well. A beautiful boquet of rcses was presented to each moth- i er. The priesthood quorum attended attend-ed the meeting at Rockville on Sunday. Mrs. Rose Stratton of Hurricane Hurri-cane visited with her mother, Mrs. Mariam Cornelius here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Isom of Hurricane were visiting here Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maloney and Mrs. Sarah Spendlove were visiting at St. George on Saturday. The 3rd to Stu grades of the Virgin school put on an operetta at Virgin hall on May 7. It was called "Sunny of Sunnyside" those taking part were: Norma Flanigan, Roena Spendlove, Allen Dean, Grant Cornelius, Leonard Wilcox, Bob Dean, Anna Spendlove, Spend-love, Betty Flanigan, Corine Cornelius, Cor-nelius, Lula Brinkerhoff, Carol Turner, Thora Lee, Yvonne Maloney, Ma-loney, Leo Turner, Wilford Wilcox, Wil-cox, Merlin Lee, Gene Maloney. Chester Bri nkerhoff, Mildred Spendlove, Linden Spendlove, Jay Ruesch and Ruby Matthews. There were not enough students from the 3rd to 8th grades to take all the parts so they invited three of the last year students who are not in school to help out. There was a large attendance, , all who saw it seemed to enjoy it very much. There was a dance afterwards in which the school sold hot dogs. ' |
