Show Pioneers of '61-71 To Be Honored At Dixie Homecoming That everything in the entertainment enter-tainment line is to be free to the Dixie Pioneers who come to this community during the years of '61 to '71 is the decision of the 7 5th Homecoming anniversary committee according to R. M. Reber, general chairman. A small admission charge will be made the general public on i the afternoon sports and regular prices win prevail lor T.ne dances in the evening. Fruit exhibit will I be open to the public at all times and no charge will be made for the fruit festival. The general program as tentatively ten-tatively outlined by the committee commit-tee at the present time will open with the parade at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 3. Following the parade, which will feature conditions as they were in '61 and today, there will be a general meeting at 11 a. m. until un-til noon. In the afternoon there will be a complete program of sports from 2 until 5 p. m. With a free banquet for the pioneers being held from 4 until 7 p. m. This will be follojwed by entertainment, possibly in I the Amphitheatre from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. This program will feature local and visiting talent. Dancing will be next on the docket. Friday Program General visiting and sightsee ing trips will be the program for the morning. At 11 a. m. until noon there will be a general meeting meet-ing with the time being turned over to the pioneers. I sports win again De ieaturea j in the afternoon from until 5 j p. m. Entertainment will be pro-vided pro-vided from 7:30 until 9:30 j which will be followed by the public dance. ; Saturday j A contribution of the general j I visiting and sightseeing with another an-other pioneer's meeting to be held from 11 until nocn is the. tentative line-up for the morn- j ling. Sports will be featured in j I the afternoon. The fruit festival j j will be held in the evening from j I 7 to 9 p. m. and this will be fol- j j lowed with a dance. David H. Morris is to be in j charge of the general meetings and the Relief Societies are in charge of the banquet. The Stake j ! Sunday school has accepted the I responsibility of the housing prob-I prob-I lem. An agreement has been jmade with the recreation com-! com-! mittee hereby seventy-five per cent of the revenue received from ; the dances is to go to the Home-; Home-; coming committee. It is hoped; !that the new recreation hall will (be finished to the extent that the j floor can be used for dancing during the Homecoming celebration. |
