Show E0U1PMENT FOR AIRWAYBEAGONS Four Gas and Electric Guiding Lights to Be Established in the Vicinity of St. George Equipment for the establishing of a lighting system along the new air route through St. George, has been brought in and the erection of the beacon bea-con lights will be started as soon as crews return from the north. One beacon was left on Schnob Kiab where, when erected, it will overlook the landing field site recently leased by the government in Washington Field. The beacon on Schnob Kiab will be of 2,000,000 candle power and will be electrically operated. Another electric beacon will be erected erect-ed between St. George and Bloom-ington, Bloom-ington, east of the dugway where the power line goes over the hill. A gas light will be established five miles west the Bloomington. One of the most important beacons on the Salt Lake-Los Angeles route will be erected thirteen miles west of Bloomington and four miles east of the dam site at the Narrows. This light will be located on the ledges overlooking the river in a sort of swale between the Apex and Beaver Dam mountains. This beacon will be electrically elec-trically operated. Two engines will operate the dynamo for generating power. This light is located in what airman have named "Horse Heaven," and will be visible from the air for many miles in all directions. Three beacons were left here and one was taken farther west. The crew is now busy in the north putting up lights before winter sets in, and as soon as completed work will commence com-mence on beacons in this vicinity. |
