Show ROCKVILLE ROCKV1I.LE, Jan. 11. Last Monday a subscription was started for the purpose of building build-ing a new home to replace the one burned down the night previous. pre-vious. Enough cash was raised to buy material and labor was donated to build the house. Work commenced at 9 a. m. that day and up to now the basement base-ment has been completed and work on the upper part of the house is going ahead rapidly. Many citizens of Springdale responded re-sponded generously to the appeal ap-peal of Bishop Jones for help. Clothing and food supplies sup-plies were also contributed and everything possible done to help the large family of small children chil-dren who were left homeless by the fire. A large number from outside communities attended the funeral fun-eral of Mrs. James Connell. Mr. and Mrs. Connell had many friends throughout this part of the state. Mr. and Mrs. Richard De-Mille De-Mille who have beening living in Las Vegas for the past six months, have returned and will make their home here. Fern Esplin of Orderville was here on business last week. Rulon Langston is home again after spending about a week out of town on business. The junior league held an ice cream party last evening. A large crowd was present and a very good time had. LeGrand Angell of Cedar City is visiting at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Arthur Terry. Miss Virginia Angell, who spent the last month with her sister, Mrs. Leonard Dalton, returned re-turned to her home at Leeds last week. Mrs. Marvin Terry spent the past week in St. George. Mrs. Orley Dalton, Mrs. David P. Terry, Mrs. Leo Hirschi, He-ber He-ber Hirschi and Alvin Jones attended at-tended Leadership week in St. George. Bishop P. Jones, Marvin Terry and Heber Hirschi spent Tuesday Tues-day in Hurricane. Elwin and Afton Ballard left Sunday to spend a week at Cane Beds. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Erwin spent Tuesday in St. George. Thirteen members of the Ono club spent an enjoyable evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Hirschi Saturday. |
