Show SHORT CREEK gHOKT CHEEK, Jan. 4. School Ftarted again today after a ten day vacation for the Christmas holidays. The school gave a splendid program on Christmas eve. There was a community tree and Santa visited the party, making all the children happy. A wedding shower and dance was given Wednesday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Lauritzen and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Larremore. Refreshments were served and an enjoyable time had. Dances were given here on New Year's eve and New Year's night. Cane Beds joined us. Misses Mary and Pearl Black of Glendale spent the holidays here visiting their brothers, J. E. and Clarence Black. Mrs. Pointer ' and children spent the holidays with her husband hus-band at the Cannon ranch. Reid Lauritzen is getting lumber to build a house. Mrs. Lauritzen was formerly one of our school teachers, Miss Verda Judd. Mrs. Lizzie Colvin and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Olds have gone to St. George to go through the temple. We have had a lot of storm the past week and the roads are in an almost impassable condition. condi-tion. Our school teachers, Mrs. Lauritzen, Lau-ritzen, and Miss Moyes, have moved into Mrs. Colvin's house for the rest of the school term. A community dinner was held here New Yeaj's day. - Eda, Permelia and Esther Johnson spent a few days at Kanab during the holidays. Juanita and Olive Stoek o Cane Beds were visitors here during the holidays. Most of the young folks attended at-tended the dance held at Cane Beds on Christmas night. Lew Ence Black, who has been away for some time on account ac-count of his health, is home again. He . has been at the children's chil-dren's hospital at Salt Lake City for several months. |
