Show WEST WARD PLAY "CLARENCE," IS VERY GOOD The West ward presented the screamingly funny comedy in four acts, "Clarence" at the opera house Tuesday night under direction of John M. Higgins. The play was very well presented, the applause and laughter of the large audience testifying testi-fying that it was fully enjoyed. John M. Higgins as "Clarence" was exceedingly good; he is at home on the stage and injected mirth into the character that was infectious. Roma Church as "Cora" and Clark Higgins as "Bobby Wheeler," brother and sister, were also well up in their parts and gave good acting. Miss Alice Pendleton as "Violet Pinney" was excellent, and so was Ray Whipple Whip-ple as "Mr. Wheeler." The other members of the cast, Vera Whipple as "Mrs. Wheeler," Miss Effie Gardner Gard-ner as "Mrs. Martin" and "Delia,' Finley Judd as Hubert Stem" and Rulon Bastian as "Dinwiddie" were all very good. It was a splendid performance and we are glad that it is to be given again tonight so that others who have not had the pleasure of seeing it may do so. |
