The Rirls are required to model i complete outfit in one of tour classes. They are a school wash iress or suit a wool, silk or ;-ayon dress or suit for school ; i "best" dress of any material ;ind an informal party dress. Winners of county contests, now bciiiK planned in many parts, will receive handsome medals and become eligibe to tho stale revue in which the winner will receive a trip with nil expenses paid by the Chicago Mall Order Company to the National Style Revue to be held at the National Club Congress in Chicago during tho week of the International Live Stock Exposition. The national contest will be staged in one of Chicago's finest banquet halls before over 1200 4-H delegates and leaders attending attend-ing the Club Congress, and will be a classic feature of the year's club program. Beautiful gold watches will be awarded class winners and a gold medal of honor to the national champion. Economy of Hie outfit will be fi.lven an important rating to induce girls to exercise thrift and originality. Contestants are required to make their dress, but may purchase the accessories. Last year's national winning outfit., out-fit., a tailored costume, $21.61. It emloyed a buckle and woolen scraps from an old dress. The reserve national champion outfit out-fit cost $13.64 complete, and included in-cluded an original best buckle made of two bracelets. A Louisiana Louis-iana girl won national honors on a cotton school dress and outfit out-fit costing $4.62. A 15-year old Arkansas girl won the same honor hon-or on a $7.54 outfit. Rules of the coptest may be obtained from local or county club leaders. |
