Show DIXIE COLLEGE, HI SCHOOL OEEEATS BAG, !PJ DUAL MEET t A large and enthusiastic crowd vatched the track meet at Cedar Ce-dar on Wednesday between the Dixie and B. A. C. College teams and the Dixie, Enterprise and B. A. C. high schools, with Dixie winning in both the college and high school meets. With the winning of both i dual track meets and 4 out of I 6 games of basketball Dixie col- lege definitely proved their su-I su-I premacy in sports over B. A. C. this year. College and High school and Dixie College and High. The score for the colleges were Dixie 73, B. A. C. 45, High schools, Dixie 641;, B. A. C: 441. Ariaerson and Wilson were the outstanding performers for Dixie college and Gubler, Wade and Lund for the High school. For B. A. C. college Knight, Moyle, Banks and Brown. Smith, Lang-ston, Lang-ston, Webster and Burgebs made the best showing for the High. B. T. U. RELAYS Coach Hafen is taking five boys to participate in the relay race at B. T. U. on April 28. The athletes who are to go will be chosen from the following grouD: Lloyd Gnbler, Captain Dick Lund, Denby Wade, dive Bunker, Bun-ker, Gene Gregorson, James Miles, Norval Leavltt and Dean Gardner. Wade is to be entered In the all-around championship which consists of the 100 yard dash, 220 yard low hurdles, Discus, Dis-cus, 4-iO yard race, javelin, high jump, broad jump, pol vault and shot put. He wlTi also run In the mile relay. Gubler will compete in the 100 and 220 yard dashes, mile and medley relays Lund, 10(1 yard dash, 220 low hurdles, javelin, mile and medley relays. Honor Day will he May 10; the sophomore graduating class program will be May 15. Baccalaureate services will be held May 13, and the commencement exerclsets, May 17. Alumni Day Is set for May 18. Other programs planned for assembly are us follows: May 1, Music program; May, 4, Valley High Day; May 8, Home Economics Econ-omics Revue. The Spanish club gave the assembly Tuesday. A short play was featured. There were also dancing and musical numbers. The campaigners also participated. participat-ed. Thursday's assembly will be given by the political parties. The Dixie high school debating debat-ing team won the southern division div-ision championship Tuesday at Cedar City, when they won the decision of the judge in the triangular tri-angular debate among Beaver, Hurricane and Dixie. The team will travel to Fillmore May 3. The winner there will go to the 'State meet to be held the next day. John T. Woodbury, Jr., Is coach of debating In both college and high school. The high school debaters are Fae Terry and WJ1-ford WJ1-ford Cannon, affirmative, and Lel-win Lel-win Wilkinson and Bob Brooks, negative. President B. Glen Smith attended at-tended a meeting of the presidents presi-dents of institutions doing collegiate col-legiate work, Saturday at Provo. Problems common to all institutions insti-tutions doing college work were discussed. Campaigning for the election of student body officers is on this week at the Dixie Junior college. Campaign managers were selected early in the week. Calvert Andrus is directing the Popeye party, and George Whipple Whip-ple is supervising the Goons. Nominations were made Tuesday Tues-day as follows: Popeyes, James Harvey of Blanding for president, Afton Judd of St. George for vice-president, Paul Wilson of Le Verkin and Wanda Romney, Stanley Schmutz, Helen Hafen and Pershing Nelson of St. George for representatives. Goons, Edwin Ed-win DeMille of Rockville for president; Mary Morris of St. George for vice president; Clyde Casto of Salt Lake City and Ir-vln Ir-vln Schmutz, Wllford Cannon, Fern Starr and Minnie Lund of St. George for representatives. Boys' Day was fittingly observed observ-ed at the Dixie Junior college Friday. Fathers of the Dixie men students were the guests of the boys during the day. Two hundred sons and fathers enjoyed the midday lunch. At this time. Gordon Whitehead paid tribute ot the boys, and Karl Wilkinson toasted the fathers. Morris J. Miles was master of ceremonies. The group participated in athletic ath-letic events in the afternoon, also enjoying the dual track meet between Dixie and the B. A. C. The usual dance was held in the evening. The Phi Sigma Gamma forensic foren-sic club was organized at the Dixie College Tuesday under the sponsorship of John T. Woodbury, Wood-bury, Jr.,, Maurice Miles, and Llnna Snow.
