Show Scout fund use explained How is your contribution to Scouting used for the benefit of the boys in the program This question was recently answered by Glade Palmer Scouting Executive ACCORDING to Mr Palmer 28 percent of the funds are used for field services This expenditure expenditure ex represents the corps of dedicated professionally trained men who give guidance and direction to the organization of districts new and existing units council and district events including program planning roundtables leadership training events district meetings exploring program planning conferences and service to 1465 packs troops and posts 18 percent provides for maintenance of advancement and membership records and unit activities for all Cubs Scouts Explorers and Leaders To maintain these records requires and man-hours man of work office space and equipment maintenance main supplies telephone and postage expense 21 PERCENT Is used for program services which includes includes includes in in- equipment equipment training films recordings manuals charts roundtable and activity supplies and all other visual aids It provides for the trainIng training train train- ing ini of volunteer leaders commissioner com corn missioner service training ps and Council and or District activities Scout 0 Rama Eagle Banquet etc Camping services takes 13 percent Mr Palmer explained that our council is fortunate to have five live Council Camps and also operates an outpost camping program This portion provides for equipment maintenance council vehicles development and expansion of camps ranger services program and leadership for or all of cI the camps Administration finance and public bUc relation including National Charter Services recognitions and annual |
