Show Tridell Lorna fflcKee Phone 247-2350 Cubs hold Blue and Gold Banquet The Cub Scouts and their parents attended at-tended the Blue and Gold banquet held at the Tridell Cultural Hall Friday night. Theme for the evening was "Around the World." The Wolf den. used Germany for their country. The Bears depicted the Orient and the Webelos the Islands. Each table and booths were decorated according to their country. A turkey dinner was served to a group of approximately sixty. Cub Scout den leaders are Barbara Goodrich, Sandy McKee and Sherrie Brinkerhoff. District leaders from Roosevelt were in attendance and presented Beth Simmons and Barbara Goodrich with their leaders award. The Tridell Scouts participated in the Klondike Derby held Saturday Feb. 25 at Bacon Park. Leaders are Doug Page and Neil Bartlett. Ray and Loidene Natani and children left Saturday for Farmington, N.M. to visit Ray's father Enos Natani. They will also visit his sister Marie in Tecnospas, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Harvey are the parents of a baby daughter born Feb. 16 at the Duchesne County Hospital. The baby weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and will be named nam-ed Sharlise. She was welcomed home by two sisters and a brother. Eva Wilson has spent the past week in Rangely visiting the Donald Trujillo family and also visiting with her daughter Donna in Vernal. Visitors recently at the Milton Wilson home have been Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilson of Springville and Elmond and Terry Wilson of Salt Lake City. Alex Kapinuee has been a patient the past week at the Ashley Valley Medical Center. Alex underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix. He was able to return - home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Haslem and Mr. and Mrs. Rae Goodrich are grandparents of a new grandson born to Jim and Beth Goodrich of Bountiful. The Goodrichs have five children. The community sponsored a Sweetheart Ball Feb. 18. By popular vote Thelma and Preston Taylor were crowned crown-ed King and Queen and Janet and Neil Bartlett were crowned prince and princess. The men were presented boutonnieres and the ladies were given corsages. Leslie Lydon and Lennie McKee sang the theme song.. Sue Simmons and daughter Pauline underwent surgery Feb. 17 at the University Univer-sity Medical Center. Mrs. Simmons donated a kidney for a transplant for Pauline. At this time both are doing fine. Mrs. Simmons has just been released from the hospital and Pauline was taken from intensive care Friday and put in a private room. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Simmons are the parents of a baby girl born Feb. 9 at the Duchesne County Hospital. The baby weighed in a 7 lbs. and 14 oz. and will be named Lynni. The Simmons now have three children: two girls and a boy. Donald and Wade Haslem went to Heber Friday night to see the basketball game between Union and Wasatch. It was a good game despite Union's loss. Isola Haslem went to Bountiful Friday and stayed until Monday at the home of Beth and Jim Goodrich where she helped in the Goodrich home and helped take care of her new grandson born Feb. 16. Leslie Goodrich hosted a toy party at her home Friday. Several people in the Tridell area have been active this week in conducting the "Penny by the Inch" drive and the Boy Scout drive. Dennis and Susan Clark went to Salt Lake City Friday to visit Pauline and Sue Simmons at the University Medical Center. They also traveled to Ogden to visit relatives. Velora Willis and Howard Merrell arrived ar-rived in Tridell Saturday night from Red Bluff, Calif. They came to move Howard's family to California where he has employment. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Simmons and Jennifer Jen-nifer Simmons went to Salt Lake City Saturday to see Sue and Pauline Simmons Sim-mons at the University Medical Center. Mr. and Mrs. DeVon McKee just returned from a 10-day trip to Mexico with Val and Lawanna Ross of Red Bluff Calif. |
