Mr. and Mrs. Michael Johnson Mr. and Mrs. Michael Johnson wed February 3 Pennie Murray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hilly Murray of Jensen, became the bride of Michael Dale Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson of Vernal, in a double-ring ceremony performed by Bishop Kenneth Aycock Feb. 3 at the Sheraton Inn. A rehearsal dinner was held at the Sheraton Inn prior to the wedding. That evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Elk Room, the newlyweds were honored with a reception. Pennie chose for her wedding gown a princess style satin dress with a flowing train made of three tiers of chiffon and lace ruffles. The lace sleeves which buttoned but-toned at the wrists were accented with seed pearl buttons. Pennie's veil was attached at-tached to her ruffled hat of chiffon and lace. She held a bouquet of red silk roses and pink baby breath with blue ribbon. Standing in the bride's line were Janet Slaugh as maid of honor and Heather Cleaves, Kristy McNeill, Lynette Mer-rell Mer-rell and Meridee Johnson as bridesmaids. The attendants were adorned in dresses of cotton print, multicolored in pink flowers on a white background. They were accented with lace around the hemline and sleeves. The attendants carried car-ried baskets of dried flowers. Best man for the groom was Jerry Allred with Devin Wright, Brent Eaton, Mark Parker and Gary Murray also attending. at-tending. They were all attired in light blue tuxedos. Mother of the bride wore a baby blue street length dress with chiffon overlay. The mother of the groom wore a dusty pink street length dress made of whipped cream fabric. Greeting guests of the bride and groom were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hatch. MarLynn Dart, sister of the groom, was at the gift book. Nanette McCurdy and Keri Bartlett assisted at the gift table. The wedding cake was made by Susan Gilbert and Mable Wall. The bride and groom were married in front of a sectioned wicker backdrop with pedestals of pink and blue carnations. Rosalee Mott sang "You Needed Me" prior to the wedding. The wedding march was played by Sylvia Slaugh. Members of the Western Wyoming Men's and Women's basketball team attended at-tended the wedding. A personal shower was hosted by Pat, Lori, Kristy and Marcie McNeill. The newlyweds took their wedding trip to Salt Lake City. They will make their home in Rock Springs, Wyo., where they are both attending at-tending Western Wyoming College and playing basketball on scholarships they both received. |
