Shelton Humphries pocketed first place when he pinned Scott Landry of Roosevelt in the 70 pound title match. West's Brett Nielson nabbed first place when he thumped Darrin Johnson, 23-0. Nielsen pinned Allee of West in a first round match and Johnson blanked West's Winward, 7-0. Craig Phillips of West placed first when he downed Blake Horrocks of Vernal. Horrocks downed Reinhardt of Duchesne, 7 to 6, in the first round and Phillips pinned Brooksby of Roosevelt. Carter of Roosevelt pocketed first plact at 85 pounds due to a win over Brandt of West. Carter pinned Travis Peatross in a first round match. Horrocks lost to Brandt and Peatross and placed fourth. Shane Frost, West, captured the 90 pound crown when he defeated Vernal's Max Merkley. Merkley pinned Shannon Weaton of Roosevelt in a first round match and Frost pinned Scott Butcher of Duchesne. Ryan Siddoway, Vernal, 95, nabbed first place due to a victory over Dean Carter of Roosevelt. Siddoway pinned Stratton of Duchesne in the first round. Mike Smith, 100, Vernal, pinned teammates, Larry Wiseman in the championship match. Smith also pinned Abplanalp and Wiseman edged Danny Pohl of West, 6-5. David Gurr, Vernal, won the 105 pount title when he downed Monte Frost of West and pinned Phil Bertoch of Roosevelt. Craig Funk, Vernal, 112, downed Brad Butcher of Roosevelt in the championship mateh and thumped Garcia of West, 12-0. George Cook, Vernal, placed first at 119 pounds due to a win over Reinhardt of Duchesne. Cook edged Devin Bailey of Vernal in the first round, 2-1. Vernal's Robert Merrill downed Jeff Ercanbrack of Duchesne for first place at 126 pounds and pinned Brown of Roosevelt. Larry Huber, Vernal, 132, placed first due to a win over Jeff Hanberg of Duchesne. Huber also pinned Eldredge of West. Gary Murray, 138, downed Mecham of Duchesne for first place and Mike Slaugh, 145, placed first due to a win over Morrow of West.
