Show Adequate athletic facilities Dear Sir: It appears to me if the Uintah High School directors would spend some money and build adequate athletic facilities and give coaches a good salary, instead of allowing so much emphasis on lack of "modesty" by girls (see 1 Tim. 2:15) at half times at athletic events, Vernal might for the first time in its history do well in team sports. The Bible states: "For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up; but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another," Ps. 75:6-7. Furthermore, a word to the coaches: "...sufering produces endurance, en-durance, and endurance produces character..." Rom. 5:3-5. If there is a distinct shift away from emphasis on dancing and sex in the school system, it might even be that God would allow the Vernal School District to get the necessary funds from the state so that it could build adequate and effective facilities. "A man's steps are ordered by the Lord; how then can man understand his way?" Prov. 20:24. "The plans of the mind belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord." Prov. 16:1. 'Take delight (give God great joy or pleasure) in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Ps. 37:4. Sincerely, CLORIS SHTPP Minister, Church of Christ P.S. "The steps of a man are from the Lord, and he establishes him in whose way he delights." Ps. 37:23. |
