Show Fire danger expected high in September With over 100,000 acres of Utah's forest and range lands destroyed by wildfire this summer, Utah has experienced ex-perienced its worst fire season in 20 years and fire danger is expected to remain high during September. Uintah County residents can significantly reduce the number of man-caused fires by safely burning debris, by not allowing children to play with matches, and by building camp-fires camp-fires safely and properly extinguishing them, David L. Santos, Uintah District fire warden, said. "Please keep in mind that burning permits shall be required for all open burning until Oct. 31," he added. The Division of State Lands' and Forestry urges everyone to exercise extreme caution while camping, traveling, and hunting during the remainder of this year's fire season. |
