Show USUEC offers welfare course Introduction to Social Welfare, SS 105, will be held through Utah State University Education Center during Fall Quarter. The three hour credit course will be taught on Tuesdays beginning at 5:30 p.m. It will be instructed in-structed by Dr. Nile Meservy, Baccalaureate Bac-calaureate Social Work Coordinator for Utah State University. This is the first course offered in the social work program and is a prerequisite pre-requisite to core courses in the social work sequence. The course will cover public and voluntary programs which provide social services. The knowledge of social welfare and social work can be of value to elementary and secondary teachers, recreation and health workers, parents, law enforcement, and special education teachers. Enrollment is open to the general public and required no pre-requisite. The course meets general education social sciences requirements for non social work students and is accepted as an elective for secondary education teaching majors or minors in sociology .
