Show j Manila 9 Clara Robinson Phone 784-5333 Honor roll students announced Manila High School has reported the honor roll for the fourth term of the 1980-81 school year as follows: Kristee Briggs, Michelle Chare tte, Susan Cook, Natalie Radosevich, Judy Reed, Alan Friedman, Rhonda Sundquist, Randall Despain, Leeanne Redden. Michelle Steinaker, Starla Despain, Carma Sadlier, Matthew Briggs, Mike Radosevich, Blake Ford, Kevin Mitchell, Mit-chell, Christy Triplett, Becky Barber, Melanie Wilde, Christy Triplett, Becky Barber, and Steve Bean. The Daggett County Sheriff's office reported the following activities for the period from May 15 to May 31: 69 calls answered, 40 assists made with 10 to motorists and 6 to EMT's, 43 warnings issued. 33 citations issued and 3 arrests made, investigation of near drowning, boating accident, dog bite to child, boaters lost, theft of road signs, traffic accident, stolen truck and theft from motorhome. The 1981-82 yearbook staff for the Manila High School has been selected. They are Randall Despain, editor; Marsha Lazzell, Roberta Marquez. Mike Radosevich, Robin Sadlier, Jeff Shipton, Celeste Skabelund and Monica Wilde. The Manila Barrel Racing Club has reported the winners of the last jackpot contest as follows: barrel racing, Edie Pallesen. 18.81: P. Briggs. 18 83 and R. Douglas, 18.84. Pole bending, Valeree Muir, 22.9; Peggy Briggs, 24.0; Edie Pallesen, 24.4. Keyhole race, Kathy Parkinson, 9 1; Brenda Douglas, 9.8 and Cindy Larsen 10.9. Goat tying, Edie Pallesen, 10.9; Cindy Hickey, 11.87 and Peggy Briggs, 11.88. In the childrens' division winners were as follows: barrel racing, Lesa Parkinson, 20.9; Tersa Potter, 21.9; Kathy Wilson, 22.3. Pole bending, Kathy Wilson, 27.7; Tersa Potter, 28.4 and Lesa Parkinson, 25.7 5. Keyhole race, Tersa Potter, 10; Kathy Wilson, 10.4 and Lynette Wilde, 25.3. An All Girl rodeo will be held June 19. Shelby Scott Hullinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hullinger of Vernal was blessed June 7 at the Manila LDS Church by his grandfather Albert H. Neff, who was assisted by the baby's uncles Steve Neff, Gene Hullinger and the baby's father. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robinson of Roosevelt and Art Robinson and Samantha Nunly visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Ellsworth Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Larsen of American Fork visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. Donald Larsen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy the latter part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy left Sunday afternoon for American Fork to visit their daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Larsen, and take care of business. Kathleen Swenson, business teacher at Manila High School, left for her home in Montpelier, Idaho, Friday. Her mother visited her earlier in the week and helped her move. Visiting at the home of Leona Sexton this weekend was her son Bob and his two sons of Salt Lake City. They enjoyed en-joyed some fishing while here. Mrs. Robert Gerbcr of Ixigan is visiting with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Briggs, Manila had a new high temperature this week when it read 81 degrees Saturday, June 6. The next highest temperature this spring was May 1 when it registered 80 degrees. The heat was followed by a shower in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. William Robinson visited Robinson's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wnorlrow Robinson in Hudson, Wyoming, Friday and Saturday of this week. Work started on the new addition for the Manila LDS Church this past week. This is on the west side of the building. A parking lot will extend to the street. |
