Show V -"w. ' ; -.. i i s . .-V'v.c-- MAESER ELEMENTARY students sharpened their knives last week to carve their entries in the pumpkin carving contest. Although the Go for the gold Beta Nu, a local chapter of Beta Sigma . Phi, sponsored a Uintah District Learning Learn-ing Center contest "Go for the Gold" on Oct. 30., Goodrich Construction Company of Vernal won a trip to Elko, Nev. The winning prize consisted of $75 spending money, plane fare for two from Salt Lake City to Elko; in addition the winner win-ner also won a room for two at the Stockman's MotelRestaurant. 'Go for the Gold' trip was coordinated by Dolores Buckley of The Traveler's Friend. Proceeds from the contest were used to purchase a handicapped tricycle and two extra tires for the Uintah District Learning Center. judging was difficult winners were chosen from each grade.
