Show City attorney resigns post Vernal City Attorney Richard C. Davidson announced Oct. 31 his resignation as city attorney to be effective ef-fective Jan. 1, 1981. In a letter to Mayor Sam Snyder, Davidson says the reason for his resignation is "due to the increasing -demands of my private practice coupled with the heavy demands of Vernal City." "I have enjoyed my association with the city officials and staff," Davidson said. As his replacement Davidson recommends L. David Burningham, 1 who has served as Davidson's deputy handling all misdemeanor criminal matter for the city since April. Davidson's resignation follows a move Oct. 15 by the council which requests a 24-hour notice from the attorney before any legal action is taken. As to whether the council's action influenced Daviuson s resignation, Davidson was unavailable mGet n(motj to comment. Davidson was retained by the council last June for $3,000 a month and has been with the city for many years. |
