Show Vernal bowlers pocket honors The Vernal Junior Bowling Association held its annual city championships Saturday and Sunday. Trophies will be awarded in bantam, junior and senior divisions for first and second place in each category. The Bantam Team winners were Eric Kay, Wayne McConkie, Kenny Andrews and Glen Claibrone on the Western Petroleum teams with 2385. Second place Bantam Team was Twin Cinema with John Culpepper, Ron Culpepper, Jeff Davidson and Mike Schiller with 2382. First place Junior Team was Branding Iron with Lori Sulser, John Thompson, Bobby Martin, Shellie Swim and Craig Fries with 3054. Second place Junior Team was Uintah Freightways with Kurt Sulser, Lisa Sulser, Steve Giese, J.D. Day and Sherrie Smuin with 3047. The first place Senior Team was Christensen Diamond with Jana Guffey, Todd Slaugh and Travis Slaugh with 1900. Second place team was MAAARK Enterprises with Blaine Shewell, Randy Sidebottom and Casey Kay with 1872. Singles handicap winners were as follows: Bantam First-Shellie Beynon-732, Beynon-732, Kenny Andrews-685; second-Leta Clavin-619, Bob Giese-648; Junior first-Elda first-Elda Rae Atwood-672, Pat Mahoney-681; Mahoney-681; second-Felicia Pike-649, Kurt Sulser-678. Senior First-Sharon Hall-644, Hall-644, Todd Slaugh-670; second-Sheri Domgaard-662, Blaine Shewell-645. Doubles handicap winners were: Bantam First-Kecia Bowden and Shellie Beynon, 1374; second-Eric Kay and Wayne McConkie, 1380; Junior First-Darwin Atwood and Bobby Rasmussen,1390; second-Kim Horton and Sammi Kay, 1271; Senior First-Kent First-Kent Smuin and Kevin Boren,1273; second-Casey Kay and Bruce Kay, 1256.
