Show Clean-up job Dear Editor: THANK YOU! Last Thursday morning as I arrived at the Vernal Senior Seminary early, having been called by our custodian and informed of vandalism, my heart sunk at the sight of such thoughtless waste and destruction. Words cannot express how we felt. Having seen the mess, estimated at $5,000 to $10,000 damage, one could almost lose faith in humanity. But any faith lost was replenished to overflowing over-flowing Thursday night and Friday as some 100 seminary and institute students turned out to clean up. Approximately Ap-proximately 1000 hours of labor was volunteered. By 8 p.m. Thursday evening the bulk of clean up was completed. Friday morning brought more students for finish-up work, local businesses contributing sizeable and appreciated donations, and other local businesses donating their expertise to repair damaged books and materials. Miracles were worked in the clean-up of physical facilities and lifted the discouraged hearts. In behalf of the Seminary faculty and local church leaders, I express gratitude to all and hope that these words can carry the heartfelt message of thanks! Sincerely, MARVIN JOHN. Principal |
