Show Ranger Transfers to Green River State Park Ranger Blaine Luke has been transferred to Green River State Recreation Area; he will become Ranger-in-Charge of the area. He and his - family will reside at the park. Replacing Elaine will be Mike , Slauson, a 1974 graduate of Utah State University. Mike holds a B.S. Degree in Outdoor Recreation. He is a native of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Wiscon-sin, and his wife Nora is from Lafayette, California. The couple will reside in the park residence area at Dead Horse Point. November 30, 1976 will be the last day the park Visitor Center will be open for this season. The Visitor Center will remain closed until sometime in March 1977. There will be a Ranger on duty each day to help visitors with park information. infor-mation. Camping will be permitted during the winter months on the point. Restrooms are to remain open for campers use. However, water will not be available at the campsites. We suggest those who intend to camp should bring there own water, and firewood. There will be no charge for camping during the winter. To date this year Dead Horse Point has recorded 126,183 visitors. This is an increase in visitation of 76 percent over the same period during 1975. The 43 Utah State Parks are showing around a 75 percent increase in visitation this year. |
