Show Hunters warned about perils of forest fire Attention archery deer and elk hunters, antelope, dove and bear hunters! The wildland fire danger is still a threat even with the recent rains. Paul Sjoblom, State Forester, is encouraging encourag-ing all hunters to be careful with their campEres. The recent rain has helped reduce the fire hazard, but two or three days of warm, dry weather could increase the fire danger by reducing the moisture in the vegetation and soil. Mr Sjoblom emphasizes, "let's not be foolhardy during this year's hunt." Make sure a three-foot circle has been cleared of vegetation around your campfire. In addition, make sure your campfire is dead out before leaving your campsite for the daily hunt. |
