Show Moab's Diamond Jubilee plans coming along Plans are pulling together for the Diamond Jubilee 75th anniversary celebration cele-bration of the birth of Moab, and it looks like a busy week beginning October 3. The week's events will get underway with a breakfast Monday morning held ir. the parking lot on Main Rtre and First North. "Curse You, Jack Dalton," a melodrama produced by the Moab Community Theatre will be put on at Star Hall, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Other tentative plans include an all age bicycle race starting south of Moab and ending somewhere in town, planned for Tuesday; a water fight sponsored by the Moab Fire Department, Wednesday; a five mile jogging race ending at the First Security Bank with certificates awarded to participants by the National Jogging Association, Thursday; and the Moab pageant on Friday. Saturday's activities will get underway under-way with a breakfast held on Main Street and First North. Plans are being made to Include a parade, beginning at 2:00 p.m., games at 3:00 and a baxbeque at Lions Park starting at 5:00 with a dance following. The recreation of an early west bank robbery will be staged sometime Saturday. Plans may also include an exhibition of hang gliders, a group from Salt Lake City, to perform sometime during the afternoon. The celebration will come to an end Sunday, with auto races at the Red Rock Speedway beginning at 1:00 p.m. |
