Show Wayne Residents resh BLM oosal Numerous residents of Wayne and Garfield Counties Coun-ties have signed a protest petition to be presented to the State director of the Bureau Bur-eau of Land Management before June 15th because of this departments proposed withdrawl of 1674 acres in the Henry Mountains to be used for 29 camping and picnicking pic-nicking and recreational sites. The proposed withdrawl with-drawl would prohibit all forms of appropriation or entry en-try under the public land law as well as location and entry under the U.S. General Gen-eral Mining Law but would not prevent leasing under the country's Mineral Leasing Leas-ing Law. Involved in this proposed withdrawl are the following sites; Lost Springs, Bull Creek, Lonesome Beaver, Log Flat, Star Flat, Granite Creek, Bull Creek Pass, McMillan Mc-Millan Springs, Nasty Flat, Eagle City, Copper Basin, Birch Spring, Slate Creek, Airplane Springs, Horn Mountain, Moun-tain, Dark Canyon, Gibbon Spring, Willow Spring, Turkey Tur-key Haven, Pine Spring, Straight Creek, Brown's Hole, Mud Springs, Squaw Springs and Star Springs. Size of the above withdrawl vary in size from five acres to 360 acres. |
