Show Girl Scout Week March 9-15 From a tiny group of 18 girls In 1912 in Savannah, Sa-vannah, Georgia, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. now have a membership of more than 3.3 million girls, men and women volunteers C3 years later. la-ter. Moab Neighborhood Girl Scouts have 13 ao-tlve ao-tlve troops In District VII which Includes Moab, Mo-ab, Montlcello, Montezuma Montezu-ma Creek and Bluff. There are 45 Adult volunteer vol-unteer leaders and 180 girls In this district registered re-gistered In the Utah Girl Scout Council. I Girl Scouts are always thought of as campers and In Utah we have three established camps to take 1 care of the varied Interests of the many girls attending. Trefoil Ranch is thought of as a horse I camp, Red Cliffe, swimming Is the main pastime I and Cloud Rim takes care of sailing, canoeing and ' outdoor survival. Echoing Pines at McGill, Nev., emphasis Is on outdoor cooking, campcraft and nature na-ture activities. Girls shown in the picture camped at Hoffman's Castle Valley Ranch for three days and learned outdoor cooking, ceremonies, nature. activities and craft work. Much of the credit for the fine record set by Girl Scouts over the years must go to the men and women volunteers and the many business, labor, government, civic, religious, relig-ious, fraternal, educational, educa-tional, and service organizations organ-izations that provide '"lrl Scouts with leadership, meeting places, sponsorship sponsor-ship of troops and financial finan-cial aid. In Moab the following organizations are sponsoring spon-soring a troop: E.S.A. Beta Be-ta Eta Sorority, MoabLa- dLtiS of Elks, Women's Literary Li-terary Club and the Jay-cees. Jay-cees.
