Show Dixie Barker flamed SE Utah Softball Official Al Hansen, State Commissioner Com-missioner oftheAmateur Softball Assn., of Salt Lake City announced Tuesday, that Dixie Barker Bar-ker of Moab has been appointed ap-pointed the Southeastern Utah District Commissioner Commis-sioner for that organization. organiza-tion. Mrs. Barker Is the manager of KURA Radio in Moab and has been affiliated with the Softball program in Moab for many years. Hansen also announced that the ASA would be holding a clinic in Moab on April 26 wlih two instructors in-structors coming to Moab to certify umpires for the association. Merrltt Watson, one of the umpires that called games in Moab for the Softball tournament held In Moab will be in charge of that clinic. Cost for the one-day clinic will be $10 for Individuals In-dividuals that wish to become be-come certified umpires. The clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will cover all aspects of umpiring. Those areas which will be covered will include on and off field mechanics mechan-ics of the game, Interpretation Inter-pretation of new rules, a question and answer period and a test. The test will be followed by a critique of the test. All persons Interested in acquiring certification are asked to contact Dixie Dix-ie Barker before April 1G. |
