Show Legion to Host Get-Together American Legion Post 54 will host a get toge-the toge-the r Monday, March 17 at 7 p.m. In the Senior Citizens Hall for all veterans, vet-erans, American Legion members, boys and girls staters and their parents, and will have a number of guest speakers present. pres-ent. Here to speak on veterans vet-erans benefits will be 3 men from the VA Hospital Hos-pital In Grand Junction. They are Richard Glbbs, staff assistant; Al Reu-ter, Reu-ter, benefits counselor; and Mr. Hlgglns, medical care administrator. Also present will be Dean Hall, American Legion Le-gion Utah Adjutant, and Bill Crlstofferson, past National Committeeman for the Legion. Snacks will be served to those present during the evening. Veterans should be aware aw-are that new eligibility dates have been established estab-lished for joining the Legion. Le-gion. World War I dates remain the same, but World War II eligibility has been extended from Dec. 7, 1941 to Dec. 31, 1946 Instead of the old deadline date of Dec. 2, 1945. From the Korean War, veterans are now eligible to Join If they served from June 25, 1950 to Jan. 31, 1955, which provides provid-es quite a larger time span over the previous deadline of July 21, 1953. Vietnam veterans are eligible from Aug. 5, 1964 to Aug. 15, 1973. |
