Show Sportsman Would Like Pheasant Plant in fAoab The bi-monthly meeting meet-ing of the Sportsmen's Club was held Tuesday night In the courthouse. There were about 25 members present. Our group would like to plant some game birds in the Moab valley or immediate im-mediate vicinity if we can get permission from the proper authorities. Mr. Jon Leatham from the Fish and Game Dept. was our guest. The possibilities pos-sibilities and problems of this project were discussed dis-cussed with him. He, in turn, will talk these things over with his superiors sup-eriors in Price, then get back to us. Another favorite project pro-ject is fixing up Bullocks pond for summer family recreation. By the time of our next meeting the weather should Ye better and we will form work parties to clean up the winter debris and work on getting the bridge in. On March 8th a trap shoot was held and the proceeds will go to the hospital. The turnout wasn't as good as we expected ex-pected and only about $60 was cleared so we'll donate do-nate our little bit and try again in the near future. The Utah Wildlife Federation Fed-eration is sponsoring a raffle and we're helping. If 300 tickets are sold down here, our club can send two couples to the Utah Wildlife Conference at Bear Lake. More than 100 tickets have been sold in the last two weeks. Next month sometime, weather permitting, the Fish and Game Dept., BLM and the Forest Service Ser-vice will hold their annual range ride. Anyone interested inter-ested is invited to participate. parti-cipate. A lot of It will be on horseback, I understand. under-stand. At the end of our meeting meet-ing we drew the name of one of our members. If her (or she) Is present, a very nice door prize Is taken home. Rex Moore's name was drawn this time but unfortunately unfortunate-ly he wasn't there so the prize, a very nice sleeping sleep-ing bag, will be held over until the mext meeting and we'll try again. If you're Interested in what we're interested in, why don't you join us? |
