Show Moab Student Involved In Science Symposium A local youth, Kevin Daniels, will be among 175 high school students participating in the Thirteenth Thir-teenth Intermountain Junior Ju-nior Science and Humanities Humani-ties Symposium Mar. 12-15 12-15 at the University of Utah. Kevin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Daniels of Moab. He will attend the Symposium with Ray Olsen, science teacher at the high school, as his faculty sponsor. Students and their sponsors will attend lectures by U of U professors, tour research re-search laboratories, and present papers on original origi-nal science and humanities humani-ties research. Represented at the Symposium will be the Intermountain In-termountain States of Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Co-lorado, Wyoming and Nevada. Ne-vada. Food, lodging and transportation will be provided by U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground, U.S. Army Research Science Sci-ence and Humanities Symposia Program, Duke University, U. S. Army Research Office, and the University of Utah. Original papers will be presented by thirty-three students on such topics as: A Study of a Creative Mind; Determining the Effects of Black Widow Venom on Small Mammals; Mam-mals; Wine: A Possible Source of Lead Poisoning, Poison-ing, and others. Of these students, six will be selected to attend the National Symposium at the U.S. Military Academy Aca-demy in New York in early May. |
