Show Range Creek road closure delayed The final decision concerning con-cerning a proposed closure clo-sure of the Range Creek Road by the Bureau of Land Management has been postponed, according accord-ing to Gene Day, Moab District Manager. BLM had proposed to close a portion of the Range Creek road serving i ' as access to the Green River due to environmen- tal damage. This included trash accumulation and X'-archaeological X'-archaeological vandalism as well as a potential ' threat to the endangered fishes in the stream. The ' work was to be done by r the local National Guard-as Guard-as part of a training exercise. As a result of the public concerns sternming from the proposed closure announcement ann-ouncement no action will; be taken at this time-however, time-however, the proposaTwuT be included as a part of-3 the draft Desolation River Management Plan which :" will soon by available for-public for-public review. Public meetings are anticipated'' to be scheduled this fall. A M final decision concerning iH the road closure will be made after this series of l meetings. ' |
