Show Walstons regain Kerrie, for now 1 Moab residents Milton and Barbara Walston regained re-gained temporary custody of 16-month-old foster child Kerrie following a decision by Fourth District Judge David Sam last Friday in Provo. The Walstons will be allowed to retain custody of the child until a committee can be named by the Court to recommend a final decision in the case. Judge Sam announced that he hoped to appoint the five members of the special committee by the end of this week. The child was placed with the Walstons over a year ago as a foster child. They attempted to adopt the child, but were turned down by the Adoption Board of the Division of Family Services. The Walstons obtained a restraining order preventing pre-venting the removal of the child, but the order was withdrawn by District Judge Boyd Bunnell last month in Moab. Judge Sam has issued another restraining order preventing prevent-ing the removal of the child pending the decision of the committee. The committee will be made up of a child psychiatrist, a psychologist, psycholo-gist, a child placement expert and a mother and a father. Following the withdrawal with-drawal of the first restraining re-straining order, the child was placed by the Division of Family Services in a shelter home in Price After the Court decision Friday, the Walstons pick, ed up the child in Pricj and returned to Moab. |
