Show Outdoor Recreation Money Appropriated Utah will receive $630, 568 during the current fiscal year in federal matching grants for state and local parks and recreation re-creation projects, Sen. Wallace F. Bennett, R-Utah, R-Utah, said today. The nationwide apportionment appor-tionment of $66 million from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund will be formally announced in letters to state governors scheduled schedul-ed to be sent in the next few days. In additon to the regular re-gular funds apportioned to the states on a population po-pulation basis, Utah will be eligible for part of another $18 million being be-ing set aside in a special spe-cial account for states which have used up all of their federal matching funds. Sen. Bennett said of all the 50 states, Utah is the only one which has used all of its federal money from last year in state and local recreation recrea-tion projects. The state received over $1.9 million mil-lion in outdoor recreation recrea-tion funds in fiscal 1973. "Utah has been able to match nearly all the federal grant money for such projects as expanded expand-ed state parks, local parks, and golf courses," cour-ses," Sen. Bennett said. |
