Show Gunshot Wound Claims Eben Scharf Samuel Fben Scharf, 44, died about 8 a.m. Wednesday. N'nv. 7 of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence resi-dence in Moab. A former Moab City Councilman, Scharf was a general contractor in Moab Mo-ab for many years. He was a veteran of World War II. serving in the Pacific with the 24th Infantry, In-fantry, and active here in the American Legion. He was born Dec. 20. 1918 in Hanksville. Ut., toThe-ophilus toThe-ophilus Jones and Jessie May McDougald Scharf, both deceased. On Dec. 20. 1946 he married Mary Aleen Pray in Grand Junction, where they lived for a time while he completed school. She survives. Also surviving are sons, Samuel Dan and Rex Eben; sisters, Mrs. Theo (Margaret) Oviatt and Mrs. Jimmy (Gale) Richardson; and brother, Jim, all of Moab. Investigation of the death is being directed by Grand County Sheriff. W. H. Bowman. Funeral services are pending and will be under the direction direct-ion of Turner Funeral Home. |
