Show More of f-70 Will Open Soon East of Thompson in Grand Another ten mile segment seg-ment of Interstate Highway High-way 70 is planned for opening Nov. 16 in Grand County, according to district dis-trict highway engineer Jim Deaton of Price. The Nash Wash to Yellow Yel-low Cat section to open will replace about half of the remaining stretch between the present end of 1-70, which is a few miles west of Cisco, and Crescent Junction. Yellow Yel-low Cat will be the first interchange west of Cisco, Cis-co, and work remaining to be completed on the section includes a temporary tem-porary tie-in with U.S. 50-6 at the interchange, striping, signing and iri-stallation iri-stallation of guard rail. Completion of the remaining re-maining half to Crescent Junction is under construction, con-struction, scheduled for completion next fall. It will tie-in to 50-6 just east of the railroad crossing east of Crescent Cres-cent Junction. The interchange at Crescent Junction will be included in the Crescent to Floy Wash link, to be put out for bids within with-in the next three months. mon-ths. The present two lanes lan-es of this section were among the first interstate inter-state projects in Utah, and standards have been altered for construction since that time. As a result, the existing lanes lan-es will be upgraded, and new eastbound lanes constructed, con-structed, said Deaton. The Floy Wash to Green River section has been slowed down because be-cause of routing problems prob-lems through the Green River- Missile Base, Deaton said, and start of construction will be still some time away. |
