Mason Greer of Calif., formerly a citizen of Cisco, Cis-co, Utah, who recently lost his wife, is taking a trip to visit friends and relatives. rela-tives. He visited Virginia Gruver and family in Thompson Thursday. They have known each other for many years and talked about old tmes and old friends. He was going to Moab and visit friends there, then on to Albuquerque, Albu-querque, N. M., then return to Calif. Junior Pene's son Raymond Ray-mond Pene, and family, is here for the deer season. Also Bob Burr and Louise, his wife (a daughter of Pene, Sr.), and their daughter. daugh-ter. The women folks and ba-. bies went to Moab for a big dinner while the men hunted. Shortie Clark and wife of Grand Junction were visitors at Virginia Gruv- er's home Sunday. Shortie used to deliver vegetables for Owens Produce for years through this area. Virginia Gruver had quite a brush with some hippies Monday morning. They drove up for gas and asked for ?5.50 worth of gas. So while she was pouring, one came inside and got 2 suckers. He said, "I left the money on the counter for these." He got in the car under the wheel. When she asked for money he said "I left it inside on the counter." She asked him to go in and bring it out .When he got out she followed him in. Of course there was no money. He started pleading for a job but the other one was under the wheel, then the motor reved up so she reached i ail(j keys and called the sherS so a perfect J K foiled. 31,0 |
