Show Former Moab Banker Indicted By Federal Grand Jury Results of a recent Federal Fe-deral Grand Jury investigation investi-gation that reported to Chief Judge Willis Ritter of the U. S. District Court for Utah, saw eight men in. dieted including a former Moab man, Ralph Osborne, 41, who h;u been charged with embezzlement of $52.-500 $52.-500 from Moab National Bank during 1908 and 19G9. The four-court indictment indict-ment claims that Osborne, former executive vice president pre-sident and cashier at Moab National embezzled amounts am-ounts of 5 1 5.000, $10,000, $7,500, and $20,000 during the two year period. Also charged in the indictment in-dictment were Darrell G. Hafen, formerly of Salt Lake City for interstate transportation of securit ies taken by fraud; Eldon Chatterly Harris, Lchi, perjury; Max Floyd Stockton, Stock-ton, Ogden and Melvin Reed, Rooseveit, mail theft; Larry Wilson Linam, Salt Lake City, interstate transportation trans-portation of articles used in counterfeiting; Clifford Clinton Babbit, Chicago, 111., interstate transportation transporta-tion of falsely made and forged securities. A second sec-ond Chicago man, Peter Alexander Makres was also charged with interstate inter-state transportation of falsely made and forged securities. Osborne was arraigned Oct. 19 before U. S. District Dis-trict Judge Ritter, but did not enter a plea. He asked for additional time to prepare pre-pare a motion and was released re-leased on $10,C00 bond. |
